Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan or pot

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups water
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 3 whole allspice berries
  • 1 tbsp loose leaf black tea or 1 black tea bag
  • 1 tbsp pumpkin puree optional, for added pumpkin flavor
  • 1 tsp honey or maple syrup (adjust to taste)
  • A splash of milk optional

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan, add water, cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and allspice berries.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil.
  • Once it reaches a boiling point, reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for about 5-7 minutes. This helps the spices infuse into the water, creating a flavorful base for your tea.
  • Add the black tea bag or loose leaf tea to the saucepan.
  • Simmer for another 2-3 minutes.
  • If you want a fuller pumpkin flavor, stir in 1 tablespoon of pumpkin puree. Make sure to mix well to avoid lumps.
  • Remove the saucepan from heat.
  • Add honey or maple syrup to sweeten. Stir until dissolved.
  • Strain the tea into your favorite cup or tea pot, removing the spices and tea leaves.
  • If you like, add a splash of milk for creaminess.
  • You can garnish with a cinnamon stick or a sprinkle of nutmeg before serving.
  • Enjoy your homemade Pumpkin Spice Tea!
