Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan or kettle

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 Hazelnut herbal tea bags or loose leaf hazelnut herbal tea
  • honey or sugar to taste optional
  • A splash of milk or a milk alternative optional
  • A few whole or crushed hazelnuts for garnish

Instructions

  • In a kettle or saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
  • Place the hazelnut herbal tea bags or loose leaf tea in a teapot or directly in mugs. Pour the boiling water over the tea and let it steep for about 5-7 minutes. The longer you steep, the stronger the hazelnut flavor will be.
  • Once steeped, remove the tea bags or strain the loose tea. If desired, sweeten with honey or sugar to taste. Add a splash of milk or a milk alternative if you prefer a creamier texture.
  • Garnish with a few whole or crushed hazelnuts on top for an enhanced hazelnut experience and visual appeal.

Notes

The calorie content in Hazelnut Herbal Tea is minimal, but it will vary based on the additions:
  • Without any sweeteners or milk: Approximately 2-5 calories per cup, mainly from the hazelnuts.
  • With 1 teaspoon of honey: Add about 20-25 calories per cup.
  • With 1 teaspoon of sugar: Add about 15-20 calories per cup.
  • Adding a splash of whole milk: Add about 10-20 calories per cup.
For a lower-calorie version, you can enjoy the tea without added sweeteners or use a sugar substitute. Opt for a low-calorie milk alternative if you prefer a creamier tea. Enjoy this delightful, nutty herbal tea!
