Ingredients
  

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup warm milk
  • ½ cup warm water
  • butter for cooking

Instructions
 

  • In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  • Gradually whisk in warm milk and water to form a smooth batter. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and grease it with butter. Place round crumpet rings on the pan.
  • Pour the batter into the rings, filling them halfway. Cook until bubbles form on top and the crumpets begin to set.
  • Flip the crumpets and cook for another minute.
  • Serve warm with butter and jam.
