Equipment

  • 1 Saucepan or pot
  • 1 shaker for the cocoa powder

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup tapioca pearls boba
  • 1 cup water for boiling the boba
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp chocolate syrup
  • 1 cup brewed black tea, cooled
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • ½ cup milk or a non-dairy alternative
  • ice cubes

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a rolling boil. Add the tapioca pearls and cook according to the package instructions, usually around 15-20 minutes, until they are tender and fully cooked through.
  • Once the boba is ready, drain and rinse under cold water to stop the cooking process. Mix the cooked boba with 1 tablespoon of chocolate syrup to sweeten and set aside.
  • In a large glass or shaker, combine the brewed black tea, cocoa powder, remaining chocolate syrup, and sugar. Stir or shake well until all the ingredients are fully combined and the cocoa powder is completely dissolved. Taste and adjust the sweetness if necessary.
  • Fill a serving glass halfway with ice cubes. Add the sweetened boba pearls to the glass.
  • Pour the chocolate tea mixture over the boba and ice.
  • Add the milk to the glass and stir well to ensure everything is mixed thoroughly.
  • Drizzle some additional chocolate syrup over the top for extra sweetness and a decorative touch.
  • Serve the Chocolate Bubble Tea with a wide straw and enjoy the rich, creamy texture and the indulgent chocolate flavor.
